We all know how kids love to collect leaves, but this is not what the forest needs. The nutrients left from leaf litter (those leaves that don’t fly far from the tree and become Leaf Critters®) are critical components of good topsoil as they decompose. Have trail takers collect a Leaf Critters® button instead of a leaf.
